HOW WE GOT HERE
Built on a decade of European collaboration
skills4planet is the result of a progressive series of EU-funded projects that have steadily built a shared digital learning infrastructure for Europe’s industrial workforce.
2019 – 2023
01
European Steel Skills Agenda (ESSA)
The first blueprint project — identifying skills needs in the European steel industry and developing a shared digital learning platform for the sector.

Skills Alliance for Industrial Symbiosis (SPIRE-SAIS)
Building on ESSA, this project extended the platform to industrial symbiosis — introducing skills4planet as a cross-sector platform with expanded capabilities.

THE LARGER INITIATIVE
Part of Skills4EII
skills4planet is the learning platform of Skills4EII — the Skills Alliance for the Green, Digital and Social Transformation of the Energy Intensive Industries. This Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Union under the Pact for Skills, brings together partners across Europe to build a shared skills ecosystem for the industrial workforce. Skills4EII is part of the Large Scale Partnership for Energy Intensive Industries — one of 14 industrial ecosystems under the EU Pact for Skills framework.
